Editorial Guidelines

If you have a story which suits the Blurb is a Verb readership, I would love to hear about it.  Every post on the blog deals with either book publicity or marketing.  Most deal with the challenge of getting your book "out there" in the world, no matter how uncomfortable that may feel.
Did you survive a television interview?  Did you give a reading with spinach in your teeth?  What's the toughest question you've ever heard at a Q & A?
Many posts are from authors out on the stump, but I'd also love to feature stories from the reader's perspective too.  Booksellers and publishing professionals are always welcome.
I could use more of the following: authors who write for children and teens, authors of non-fiction, and booksellers and publicists.
You may notice that some posts have a "how to" feel, but the most successful posts come from the heart.
Suitable topics include (but are not limited to) your experience with:

  • Bookstore events
  • Radio publicity
  • TV publicity
  • Online book marketing
  • Advertising
  • Getting blurbs
  • Reviews
  • Book parties
  • Public speaking
  • Conferences
  • Etc!
Authors will have their cover art and photo featured.
